In 2016 the family sourced some very high grade single vineyard Shiraz from the Finniss region of South Australia. Eight barrells were chosen and from these, only the best four were chosen to be used for the style of Shiraz we were looking for. The young wine was kept in barrels made from two and three year old oak where it matured and flavoured for 16 months.
TO THE NOSE
An intriguing blend of the rich ripe notes from an early, high quality vintage, and the cooler spice which come from the maritime site and sandy soils of the region. Floral undertones add an extra dimension to this already exciting drop.
A classically South Australian, medium-full bodied variety, this glorious shiraz boasts balanced notes of spice throughout with a subtle kick of toasty length from matured fine oak. The undertones of floral and blue fruits re-enter this fiery blend to balance slight savoury tones ensuring that the wine is rounded and gentle to the pallet.
